"Dey404" is a grassroots, non-profit effort to document and honor the names, memory, and stories of those who lost their lives in Iran's struggle for freedom. The privacy of our visitors, the families involved, and everyone who contributes to this documentation matters deeply to us. This page explains what information we collect and how we use it.
1. Information We Collect
- Javidnaman records: name, age, gender, province and city of the event, hometown, photo, biography, and, where known, cause of death. This information is published publicly for the purpose of documentation and preserving historical truth.
- The "Contribute" form: when you submit information about a Javidnam through this form, no identifying information about you (name, email, phone number, or IP address) is stored. Submissions are completely anonymous.
- Local browser storage (localStorage): to prevent a "memorial candle" from being counted twice on the same page, a small marker containing no personal information is stored in your browser. This data is never sent to our servers or linked to your identity.
- Third-party content: some detail pages may display embedded Instagram posts. This content is loaded directly from Instagram/Meta's servers and is subject to their own privacy policy, which is outside our control.
2. How We Use Information
The information we collect is used solely to publicly display the archive, produce general statistics (such as age or province distribution), and maintain an accurate historical record. It is never used for advertising, marketing, or sold to third parties.
3. Your Rights
Families or relatives of a Javidnam may request correction, completion, or removal of published information at any time. Our documentation team reviews every request carefully and respectfully.
4. Data Security
We take reasonable technical measures to protect information, but no online system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Changes to This Policy
This privacy policy may be updated from time to time. Significant changes will be posted on this page.
